4th of July Sing-A-Long  with The Singing Nuns

The Singing Nuns came into existence back in 1979 when funds were low and bills had to be paid for the private school and convent.  Singing became a way for the the much needed financial support and the Sisters began fitting in practices, appearaces and recordings into their already busy schedules. The singing however, became not only a means of financial support for the convent and school but also became a mission for the Sisters with the singing of hymns and Gregorian chants which was uplifting to the human heart.

The RBMC Jazz & RBMC Music Studio (Rachel Bade-McMurphy & Brendan McMurphy) presents the first annual summer workshop.  The workshops are open to all ages with a focus on high school, college students and adults.  The six week curriculum will consist of 4 to 6 individually scheduled personal coaching sessions with award -winning jazz vocalist Rachel Bade-McMurphy, 2 group masterclasses working with other singers and musicians where you'll work in depth on jazz style, delivery, communication, form, historical topics and more.  You'll also have a dress rehearsal wi

Young Muscians Compete At BOBfest

People in Riverfront Park got serenaded with the sweet sounds of young local bands Saturday. 12 teen bands competed in BOBfest 2011, Battle of the Bands at the Clocktower Meadow.

The competition gives young musicians a chance to perform in public and get critiqued by local judges. This year, Better Than Yesterday took first place. The band is made up students from Ferris High School and Odyssey Middle School. Lewis and Clark students in the band Battlesound got second place.

There are so many aspects of color and The Gallery of T.H.U.M. will give you an avenue to explore those aspects. The Color Theory Class being offered at T.H.U.M. will teach you about the color wheel, complementary colors, characterists of color hue, value, intensity, temperature, mixing colors and how colors affect each other.  This is a hands on course being offered to students ages 16 to adult and class size is limited so please call Gallery of T.H.U.M. for reservations.

It's Fashion, Fun on a Friday! Fashion Night Out, Friday, June 3rd at the Spokane Convention Center beginning at 7pm.

Preview the best in local fashion as firefighters and models heat up the runway with casual to formal looks from Finders Keepers, Tangerine, Swank, Smitren, Tiffany Blue, Moutain Gear, Fringe and Tuxedo Gallery.

KXLY 4's Mark Peterson will act as emcee and auctioneer for the evening.
