A downtown bar closed their doors at their Riverside location earlier this week. Revolver is relocating that venue to the former location for Cafe Dolce, located at 221 N. Division. The bar continues to maintain a second location in the Garland District.

Luxe Coffee House expanding menu options

A downtown coffee house is applying for an off-premises liquor license. Luxe Coffee House recently installed outdoor seating and hope to apply for their liquor license soon, but owners say they're waiting for the "powers to be" from the state's liquor control board.

An off-premises license means the coffee house can sell unopened containers of specialty beer and wine they sell at the venue.

New restaurant moving into North Monroe Business District

Moving into a venue along north Monroe, Gerardo's Mexican Food will make its home at 2706 N. Monroe. That's the former location for Chill Spot that closed earlier last year. The restaurant applied for a beer and wine license with the state's liquor control board.

One step closer to the White House Honey Ale

Not exactly local, but important for home brew hobbyists. Thanks to public records requests and Reddit, we know the recipe for the President's personal recipe of "White House Honey Ale" is almost in the hands of citizens.

During an "ask me anything" interview on Reddit, President Obama said the recipe will be out soon and vouches for its taste.

A petition has been passed around the Internet hoping for signatures to encourage the recipe sharing, so if you haven't yet, you can go fill it out.
