New locally owned coffee shop coming to South Hill | Business

A new coffee shop on Spokane's South Hill is getting ready to open its doors next month.

'Revel 77' is located on the 3200 block of East 57th, next to Rancho Viejo and across from the new STCU.

Owner Mike Nelson and his wife Deb are excited to open up the coffee shop.

"From traveling up and down the west coast, I really didn't find a coffee shop like the kind I seek out, and I really didn't see one in Spokane. Finally I got enough inspiration to start one," Nelson said.

'Revel 77' will serve both drip coffee and espresso. They will serve coffee from three different roasters, DOMA, Water Avenue Coffee and Victrola. They'll also be serving baked goods and soup.

The Nelson's live on the South Hill and wanted to open a coffee shop in their area. They're hoping to open by the end of October.

The name of their coffee shop has a special meaning to the couple. They both liked the word revel, meaning to celebrate or take delight in. They didn't feel like 'Revel' was a long enough title, so they added '77 on to the end of it, the year they were married.

'Revel 77' will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
