The Washington Secretary of State office is opening up nominations on Friday for this year's Corporations for Communities 2011 Award. Last year, Secretary of State Sam Reed, selected two corporations, one large and one small corporation that were recognized as exceptional Washington businesses that demonstrated a commitment to giving. GLY Construction in Bellevue and Dissmore's Foods in Pullman were selected as the winners, picked from a statewide pool of nominees.
"This is an opportunity to encourage standout corporations that are choosing to make their community a priority,” said Reed. “Particularly in these tough economic times, it’s important to cheer on businesses that are going above and beyond to make a difference in Washington.”
Any sized for-profit corporation, LLC, or limited partnership is eligible for the award. The nominee must be registered with the Office of the Secretary of State and be in compliance with state and federal laws. Before you nominate a business, read the nomination criteria. There is an online nomination form that you can use. August 31st is the nomination deadline.
