Well, this is sobering news...Spokane Community College cancelled its upcoming job fair due to lack of participation by local employers. The following letter was sent out this afternoon by the S.C.C. Career Services Department:
Attention SCC Students and Alumni:
As part of our Bigfoot Jobs system I regret to inform you that we have cancelled our upcoming job fair event.
The Bigfoot Jobs Extravaganza that was to be held Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 9 am to 3 pm at Spokane Community College, has been CANCELLED.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but we felt that due to low employer turn out it would not be beneficial to our student population to hold the event at this time.
For those of you that are in the Health and Environmental Sciences or are undecided in your major and are looking into these fields, we are having panelists come to speak on April 13th about what types of positions are available, what employers are looking for, and what the job market looks like in these fields today. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Again we sincerely apologize for not being able to bring this event to you here on campus. Please feel free to use our Bigfoot Jobs system to continue to look for job postings and we encourage you to utilize our Workforce Education and Career Services office to get your resume and cover letter ready for summer break or graduation!
