Spokane Community Garden Tours | Community Spirit

It is the fall harvest season and the city of Spokane is inviting everyone along for the 2012 Community Garden Tours.

Ten community gardens around Spokane will celebrate the fall harvest tomorrow.

And there's more than just ripe tomatoes and cucumbers. At The Commons Community Garden, located at 33rd Avenue and Lamont, there will be a garden swap meet. People are invited to donate garden tools, equipment and supplies and shop for items they might need for their own garden.

There will also be a workshop on effective composting by the Master Gardeners as The Commons Community Garden.

The garden tours are Saturday, September 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

· All Saints Lutheran, 314 S. Spruce.

· Beautiful Savior, 4320 S. Conklin.

· The Commons Community Garden, at 33rd Avenue and Lamont Street.

· Earth Turners Community Garden in Peaceful Valley at 1400 W. Water Avenue.

· East Central Community Garden, at South Ralph & East Hartson.

· Grant Park Community Garden, 10th & Perry.

· Hifumi En Residents' Garden, 926 E. Eighth.

· Hillyard Pumphouse Community Garden, at North Crestline & East Hoffman.

· Northeast Community Center Community Garden, Lacey & Liberty.

· West Central Community Garden, 1832 W. Dean.
