Spokane Police launches "Remove It Or Lose It" campaign | Crime

Vehicle prowling is up by almost 40% percent in Spokane and now police are kicking off an anti-vehicle prowling awareness campaign called "Remove It or Lose It."

Police say they're doing everything they can to combat the problem, but they need your help by doing some simple things. Police also say it's important to be smart and aware of your surroundings.

Here's a list of some helpful tips to keep you and your car safe:

• Remove valuables from your car.

• Lock shopping bags in the trunk.

• Keep your doors locked and park in well lit areas.

Good rule of thumb, if you see someone in your car, contact 911 right away. Police say the campaign will officially launch July 9th.
