New Soil Testing Lab
The Spokane Conservation District has a new Laboratory that can help your garden grow greener. The District opened the new soil testing lab last week. It tests soils for nitrogen, phosphorus, PH and organic matter. Before it opened, the closest lab for soil testing was in Moscow, Idaho and Moses Lake. Soil Scientist Eric Choker said results will tell gardeners what nutrients their soil needs and what chemicals you do and don't have to apply. Choker also said the lab tests give better results than home kits sold at stores. The District lab test costs $30 and take a few days for results. Call the Spokane Conservation District at (509) 535-7274 to pick up a test kit.
