Spokane's First Vintage Swing Festival | Events

If you dance, want to learn to dance or just enjoy great music and a party.. Spokane has just the thing for you!

Vintage Swing Dance Instructor Colleen Robinson is putting together the city's first ever Lindy Exchange.  What does that mean, a Lindy Exchange?  It means lindy hop dancers from all over come to one city for several days to experience the dance venues and styles of that local community and to dance with visitors and locals.

Traveling for exchanges has contributed to the development of a lindy hop community. Although the focus of lindy exchanges is on lindy hop, related swing dances such  charleston and blues are common at 'lindy' exchanges as well.

Spokane's will offer dance lessons (people with 2 left feet are encouraged to come!)  Friday night music from The Hot Club of Spokane, 9 p.m. to Midnight, at Centerpointe, 1408 N. Washington St.  Saturday includes a photo scavenger hunt, and music from 6’ Swing, 9 p.m. to Midnight, and a guest DJ at Centerpointe. 

Sunday begins with a Bon Voyage dance at River Front Park, 1-5 p.m., then The Spokane Swing Club will host a dance at the German American Club, 25 W. 3rd. Ave. Lessons from 6-7 p.m., Mixed DJ dance from 7-9 p.m.
