Craft canned beer inspires new festival | Events

Of all the strange mashups of Spokane’s name we’ve seen, this new festival takes it to a new level. Leading up to The Elk’s annual Elkfest, the restaurant and bar is hosting a “Spo-Can: Craft Canned Beer Festival” to take advantage of all the different kinds of craft beer in a can they have.

Get it? Spokane? Spo-Can? Canned beer? It’s cutesy clever in a Spokane kind of way. Apparently they have over 40 varieties. Brownie points if you can try them all (and stay safe).

On June 2nd at Noon, the restaurant is kicking off the newfangled festival and they’ll be serving up cans of all kinds of beer. Sounds like it will be more than just tall boys of PBR, Rainier and Olympia.

Also, it’s a good excuse to have some bands stop by for some tunes. Performing at the festival: Hey! Is for Horses, Ampersand, The Booze Fighters and La Cha Cha.
