Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council - Presentations from the city regarding residential chip seal projects, Sustainable Works and discussion on Spokane School District 81 contracts, summer parkways, membership, etc. | 7-8 p.m. @ Wilson Elementary, 911 W. 25th
Wednesday, May 30th
Intro to Bike Commuting - Bike to Work Week ended, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't continue your bicycle streak. Bike Style Spokane will present basic tips for riding your bike in Spokane featuring commute techniques and what to wear. | 5:30-7 p.m. @ Two Wheel Transit, 1405 W. 1st Ave, Spokane

Kootenai County Spelling Bee - This is in Coeur d'Alene yes, but it's a spelling bee for adults. Seven teams, one winner. | 11:30-2 p.m. @ Coeur d'Alene Best Western Inn, 5-6 W. Appleway Ave., Coeur d'Alene
Friday, June 1st
First Friday: Ara Lyman - We took one look at the Facebook event and the bar/restaurant's featured drink is minty goodness, also known as mojitos. The artist, Lyman, is a 13-year resident of Spokane. | 5-8 p.m. @ Scout, 1001 W. 1st, Spokane
The Inlander's Volume - This is an epic event that can't be explained in a simple paragraph. Over 35 bands are performing in a block party and it's only $5. | 4 p.m. - 2 a.m. @ numerous venues in Spokane.
Saturday, June 2nd
Artfest - The art event is longer connected to Elkfest at all, so it's just a lazy weekend in the park minus the neighboring rock and roll. | 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. @ Couer d'Alene Park, Browne's Addition, Spokane.
Spo-Can: Canned Beer Festival - But, there will be neighboring rock and roll from Artfest. A little music with a little beer. Canned beer. You can't go wrong. | 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. @ The Elk, 1931 W. Pacific, Spokane
Sunday, June 3rd
Chief Garry Park Summer Parkways - The park turns 100-years-old and the streets are closing for alternative transportation. Great way to meet your neighbors. | 12-4 p.m. @ Chief Garry Park, 2500 E. Mission, Spokane
Hands Across Monroe - For the inner activist, some folks are marching across the Monroe Street Bridge to support the LGBTQ community. | 6 p.m. @ Riverfront Park runners in Spokane.
