Cliff-Cannon: Tree of the year walk and block party on Saturday | Events

Saturday is a big day for neighbors of the Cliff-Cannon area. In the morning, they’ll have a chance to vote for their favorite tree of the year and then have some afternoon fun at the annual block party.

At 10 a.m., neighbors will meet at Polly Judd Park to check out the six trees that are nominated and neighbors will take a stroll around the block to vote for their favorite.

In an email from the neighborhood council, the property owner of the winning tree will receive another street tree to be planted in front of their home or a space of their choosing.

Later that afternoon, neighbors can head on over to 10th Avenue along Huckleberry’s to attend the big block watch party that happens every year. From 3 to 6 p.m. there will be live music from Dead Man’s Pants and a bunch of food.
