It can probably be called a fire sale now.
Firefighters were called to 404 W. 25th early Friday morning.
The 1939 Spanish style home, which has been on the market for just a few weeks, had smoke coming from under the eaves when firefighters arrived.
It took a thermal imaging camera for crews to pinpoit the heat concentration to an area in the ceiling above the formal living room at the front of the house.
That's when firefighters tore into the beautiful coved ceiling and hit the fire with hose streams. Several minutes later, the fire was out, but the historic and perfectly maintained home will need a major cleanup.
The Spokane Fire Department says the cause of the fire appears to be an electrical problem, but the investigation does continue.
