Major construction is set to begin on 29th Avenue this Thursday. The rehabilitation project will close the street from High Drive to Grand Blvd. starting at 6 a.m.
The $2.7 million project is funded by the 10-year Street Bond and the city's Water Department. Crews will rebuild the street curb-to-curb and replace a 12-inch water main. Existing bike lanes will also be restriped. During construction, vehicle traffic will be detoured through Grand Blvd. or Bernard St.
Street signs placed around the South Hill are incorrect according to the city's Street Department. Ann Deasy says they say construction starts the 2nd, but really it starts on the 5th.
