The Eyelash Extension Buzz

The Eyelash Extension Buzz

As a woman with relatively wimpy eyelashes, I had to get in on a new trend sweeping Spokane... eye lash extensions. Women I know who wear them, swear by them. They make your lashes longer, thicker and eliminate the need for mascara. No mascara? Thicker, longer lashes? I had to try it.

You wouldn't notice Eileen Frances' Beautiful Lashes storefront from the street. I didn't. I drove right by it.

Flip Flop Recycling

Flip Flop Recycling

Nothing says summer more than flip flops.  The squishy sandals help you beat the heat and they can help build a new playground too.  The Old Navy stores in Spokane Valley and Moscow, Idaho are collecting used flip flops.  Collection boxes sit near the front door. .

"When a customer comes in they just need to bring their old flip flops and pop them in the box.  It's Simple, " said Spokane Valley store manager Bridget Brooks.

The old sandals are mailed to TerraCycle http://www.terracycle.net

Maternity Clothes Under $10

Maternity Clothes Under $10

With four women in the KXLY newsroom currently pregnant, there's a lot of talk about pregnancy, babies, motherhood. Among those topics of discussion: maternity clothes. Of course, there's the need. However, spending so much money on clothes you'll only wear for a few months isn't the way anyone wants to spend their hard earned cash.

But thanks to another local mother and entrepreneur, the pregnant KXLY crew and all other expecting mothers have a new resource for maternity clothes.
