Help kids play sports, support "Cleats For Kids" | Sports & Recreation

Sports is sometimes the only thing keeping some kids in school. Sports may be the sole reason some kids stay out of trouble. It's been proven that sports teach valuable lessons in teamwork, socializing, leadership and achievement.

Unfortunately, many kids can't afford to play sports; can't afford the equipment, or the proper shoes.

You can keep (or get) kids involved in local sports and it may not even cost you a dime.

Operation Healthy Family is holding an equipment and shoe drive called “Cleats For Kids”. It will take donations of new or gently used cleats and equipment for boys and girls who participate in OHF's after school football clubs in the Spokane School District.

You can drop off your donations at one of the 4 following locations:

• South Hill 1601 E. 57th Avenue (105.7 FM)
• Spokane Valley 2302 N. Argonne Rd. (Smoov Cuts Barber Shop)
• North Spokane 114 E. Wellesley (Urban Fashions)
• East Spokane 631 S. Richard Allen Court (Emmanuel Family Life Center)
